Oct.1,1889 City officially established.
Apr.1,1908 Higashi, Nishi, Minami, and Naka wards established.
Sep.1,1914 City water supply system completed and became operative.
Aug.1,1922 City trolley system began operation.
Feb.1,1930 City buses began operation.
Jul.10,1931 Municipal hospital opened at Mizuho-dori 1-chome.
Mar.3,1937 Higashiyama Botanical Gardens opened.
Mar.24,1937 Zoo moved to Higashiyama Park.
Jun.20,1954 T. V. Tower completed.
Oct.10,1955 1st Nagoya Festival
Nov.15,1957 Nagoya-Sakae portion of subway completed.
Oct.1,1959 Nagoya Castle rebuilt.
Jul.15,1989 World Design Exposition held.
Oct.1,1989 100th anniversary of Nagoya's municipalization.
Apr.3,1997 Nagoya Noh Theater opened.
May.2,1998 Orchid Gardens opened.
Nov.1,2001 Port of Nagoya Public Aquarium new complex ( north building ) opened.
Oct.11,2002 OASIS 21 opened.
Oct.6,2004 Opened the country's first loop subway line.
