In order to stop global warming and expand the use of renewable energy, the City of Nagoya is offering subsidies for the installation of solar thermal power systems in homes.

Subsidies for Installing Solar Thermal Power Systems in Homes

1. Overview of the Subsidy System

Solar Thermal Water Heater

○  Unit of Subsidy: \10,000 for every 1m2 (max. subsidy capped at 10m2 kW)

○  Available Subsidies: Approx. 40

○  Eligible Parties: Individuals newly installing a solar thermal water heater in homes within the City of Nagoya

○  Other: We can only subsidize systems that have been approved as good home products by the Center for Better Living (BL-bs Components)

Solar Heating

○  Unit of Subsidy: \20,000 for every 1m2 (max. subsidy capped at 10m2)

○  Available Subsidies: Approx. 20

○  Eligible Parties: Individuals newly installing solar heating systems in homes within the City of Nagoya

○  Other: We can only subsidize systems that have been approved as good home products by the Center for Better Living (BL-bs Components)

2. Application Period

Apr. 19, 2013 (Fri) to Feb. 28, 2014 (Fri) (First-come, first-serve)

※We will stop accepting applications when we have reached the limitations of our budget.

3. Way to Apply

By Mail (You must apply before the installation begins.)

5. Other

We are distributing introductory pamphlets (in Japanese) at the Information Corner of each Ward Office, starting on April 10 (Wed).

The City of Nagoya is also subsidizing photovoltaic power generation systems in homes and home-use fuel cell systems.
